Awesome project! Great feeling, great artistic direction, the controls are deceptively intuitive (as someone who drives a manual). Feels like I'm in Redline or some epic comicbook
Sadly the lever clips through the gears sometimes. Also some collisions are bigger than they seem (oh that train)
Amazed this game isnt talked about at all such an interesting concept with good execution the only problem i have is not being able to assign keys beacuse i dont have arrows on my keyboard haha
Since this was for a game jam ive been hesitant to spend time updating it and focus my energy towards my main project, ETOS, but me forgetting that keyboards without arrow keys exist is probably something i should fix lol, ill see about hitting the other feedback all the helpful people in the comments have left me
Thanks again! Hope you were able to enjoy the game regardless
Glad you liked it! And thank you for the video! Its always eye opening to see someone experience the learning curve of the game in realtime, especially comparing those who have driven a manual before and those who havent lol. Hope you managed to beat the game!
A wonderful game that has a lot of potential! The 4th stage did have terrible performance, while the 3rd stage could use some visual touch-ups just to bring it up to par with the others in both clarity of route, theme and overall polish. The two most important features I'd like to see implemented, however, are a settings menu to mute the music (no matter how good it might be now, it'll start to grate after a while) and a way to tell what gear you've just entered without looking down. An audio cue could work, e.g. pitching the gear switch sound up/down.
If you do decide to work on some more content for this, I think a chase sequence in a city is kind of a must. Weaving between traffic, then building speed to narrowly avoid a collision with a train, all while pursuing/being pursued for whatever reason. The pieces are all there and this Chekhov's gun begs to be fired.
thanks for the crit! All valid points, I’m sorry the 4th stage was hampered on performance, wasn’t aware of it on my rig my bad
I had a lot of ideas I wanted to implement for this game, but unfortunately a lot of them got cut to fit a 2 and a half week deadline before I went on a family trip (I wanted to make those trains move in the last level but I wouldn’t have had the time to bug test before shipping it was that tight)
I definitely want to realise the potential of this thing, but I also want to get a demo out for my main project, ETOS, sometime this year
So hopefully if I’m diligent enough and don’t burn myself out, I might be able to do both this year, but I’ll see
regardless, thanks for playing! Glad you had some fun
This was absolutely awesome to play. I spent a couple of hours beating all five tracks and top to bottom the vibes, the soundtrack, the feeling of the car, it was all absolutely perfect. This is one of my favourite feeling manual transmission systems I’ve ever played!

also the collision is waaaay to harsh if you hit a wall its like a glue even worse in tight spaces
Thanks for the feedback!
